Looking at the pictures that were taken of my grandma when she was a kid make me so happy. The professional film portraits that are in the mix of birthdays and camping trips are the most fascinating to me. The lighting is so simple but beautiful, and the iconic smile isn’t there. Almost every one of my favorite portraits that I’ve taken don’t have a smile. I like creating a mood other than happy. Seeing someone you never knew with more than just a smile in a picture creates depth and reality.
